To download trial version


  1. To download a trial version now, visit the trials download page
  2. Enter your user serial number and password when prompted and the software will then be available for download.
  3. Choose to SAVE the file to your desktop (or other location that you will REMEMBER!). If prompted, answer yes that this is a trusted site. The file you will be downloading is called Main-Events_Setup_HO.exe.
  4. Double click on that icon on your desktop (or other) to extract the zipped files to your local disk. When prompted by the Winzip program, choose UNZIP.
  5. When it is finished unzipping the folder and files involved, then choose OK and then CLOSE to finish the Winzip self extraction.
  6. You will then have to find the folder c:\Main-event-Setup on your local hard disk to actually start the installation process.
  7. Either click on MY COMPUTER or use the RUN command from your START MENU to find the file c:\Main-Events_Setup\setup.exe (or type it in exactly as shown).
  8. Follow directions on the screen and do not change any program directories as the program must be used from the local disk.
  9. Once the installation process is finished, you will be asked if you want to launch the program, choose OK.

To register the software

  1. The first time you open the program, you will notice firstly that a data file is being set up for you.
  2. A message will then appear about this being a new registration that requires you to register the software. Click on OK and follow the directions through.
  3. Tick on the lower left of the screen (where the red hand is pointing) that yo have read the agreement and agree to be found by the trial agreement.
  4. Follow directions on screen. When prompted, enter your name and details.
  5. Enter the 5 digit serial number that was assigned to you as above.
  6. Click on the button to the right GENERATE REGISTRATION KEY. This will generate a 12 digit registration key that will uniquely identify the software as being trailed by you – and eventually licensed to you if you decide to proceed.
  7. Once you have completed this process, you will be able to use the software for 21 days before deciding to keep and forwarding payment.
  8. There is a full manual on line with the software. From the toolbar at the top of your screen, click on USER GUIDE and use the bookmarks to work through the areas of the program.
  9. Please note, there are 3 sample horses in the data when you first open it so that you can see how all the information fits together before you purchase. Remember, any data you enter now will be available once the program is licensed – you don’t lose it.
