Add-on Utilities
PDF Writer
The Main-Events PDF Writer utility is an add-on for the Main-Events programs that easily converts any printed report you can preview on the screen into an exact replica PDF document that can then be safely emailed to others. All sample reports and feature lists downloaded from this site are examples of the PDF output. This includes colour and photos.
For example, from the Horse Owners program you can send a report with pedigree grid, photos and performance detail to prospective buyers.
This PDF writer is more tightly integrated in the Professional and Standard versions of Main-Events used to run horse shows so that invoices or entry lists can be emailed with one click from within the program.
The PDF writer works with other Windows software and not just Main-Events making it a versatile tool for all horse owners and show managers.
- Price - $50.00 (plus GST for NZ customers)
Direct Crediting (NZ only)
This service is currently only available in New Zealand. We will customize the program so that at the end of the show you can use direct crediting to pay out prize money and refunds directly into customer accounts.
To use this service, show management must already have signed up for a direct crediting facility with their bank. The Main-Events program then creates the export file needed to upload details to the bank.
The program will provide an audit trail report of what money was sent out and to whom divided into groups of customers where necessary. A payment slip or full statement can then be emailed or mailed to each customer detailing what the payment was for.
Please enquire directly with Main-Events for further information and pricing.
Cheque Writing
What a popular time saver this is at the end of a major show!
This is a customized service available to all shows provided you use pre-printed cheques that only need the customer name, date and amounts filled in. The cheques are expected to be one per full page (A4 or Letter) with an area for customer address and payment details listed at the top for use in a windowed envelope.
As a specialised service, price is on application.
Web Upload (being trialed)
This new program is being trialled by 3 major shows (including the NZ Horse of the Year Show) and has had widespread acclaim.
You can view one of these shows on Masterton A&P Show web area. The site shows individual class lists that anyone can view; or through a special user id, riders could log on to their own page and see their own entries. This certainly proved popular with both riders and organizers. The riders were able to see their classes before they arrived so the organizers had much less swapping around on the first show day. This communication was by email mainly – saving valuable time caught up answering phones.
More importantly, through a special area accessed only by organizers, section stewards could track entries numbers to date and where low, could then take action to ring around to encourage more entries as they could see exactly who was entered and who was not.
This is a first step into the future and we will be working with a number of other shows for the coming season to iron out all the wrinkles.
Pricing and availability on application and when available.
Email Merge (being trialed)
Email communication is playing more of an important role in managing horse shows these days – saving on delays and more importantly postage costs!
The Main-Events Emailer is an add-on to the Shows or Horse Owners program that makes it easy to do email merges of your data customer by customer automatically. It can create embedded lists of horses entered in whatever classes that can be sent out as plain text format minimizing issues with PDF or html attachments getting by email and spam checkers.
Emails can be personalized with customer names and greetings and are sent out one by one using SMTP protocol and avoiding Outlook or other restrictive email programs.
This is currently being used by several Main-Events customers and is expected to be available as an add-on to Main-Events in November 2006.
