We need your horses!
We need to register as many eligible horses as QUICKLY as possible in our bid to become
recognised by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses.

If we are going to count performances in the current season for our top horses, we need to have this
application in early in 2009. That is a big task involving outlining rules, regulations, breeding programmes,
history of breeding, samples of all forms, certificates and actual data.

Dr Chris Rogers from Massey University is beginning this documentation process in conjunction with
Anne Vallance, Registrar. The database is being revamped, we are opening information to the industry
through our website and now we need your support by getting your horses on the register so that we can
prove NZ is serious about the sport horse industry.
.
One of the questions we have to address in our application is the number of foals registered each year
over the last 5 years. As the NZ Sport Horse Register has basically been out of circulation … that figure
is embarassing! So, it is really important that we gather in as many registrations for horses born between
2002 and this year as possible!
