My stallion is already registered with several breed societies. Why should I also register him with
the NZ Sport Horse Register?
Firstly, we believe that purpose bred sport horses leaving NZ should come under one banner of a NZ
Sport Horse once they compete internationally. Then we as a country can gain points in the FEI World
Breeding Federation for Sport Horses and actually make some impact - like win the eventing studbook
ranking.
.
There is always a chance that one of your horses might become a Charisma! It is the role of stallion
owners to encourage mare owners to register progeny with the NZSHPB and after that register and brand
with the breed society of their choice. Breed Societies are still important within the NZ industry as they
enforce standards on stallions and mares that are making a difference. Secondly, we are going to make it
more profitable to breed sport horses in New Zealand and dare we say it, more fun! With a wider base of
influence and more horses on the register, we can achieve more together and tell the world about it.
.
Finally, we intend the Sport Horse Register to become a valuable tool in the selection of horses for
breeding and sale. All current stallions will be listed on the website with your contact details. We will also
be offering stallion owners an option to extend the information on their stallion with pictures and more
information in a standardised one page extension to the normal listing. This will give you a wider audience
