Glistening Waters Story Telling Festival
Standard version Show software used to run this unusual event
This popular bi-annual Wairarapa event has been using Main-Events software for close to 6 years. Their most recent event was held June 23-26, 2006. The festival includes storytellers from around the world with workshops, fireworks display, street theatre and walks to late night telling sessions. So it is not just for kids by a long shot!
While we don’t have a special version of Main-Events for Storytelling, we thought you might like to know how versatile the base software is. Instead of classes, they have Telling Sessions in different rooms (eg locations). Instead of horses they have names of people registering. A class list becomes a check list at the door where names are ticked off.
Some sessions are actually “dinners” with dinner guests so they can be ticked off at the door as well.. They email newsletters out using the Mail Merge feature within 3D Achieve. It all fits!
Event convenor Janet Hayes commented "The program is very useful. It makes life much easier as we are able to keep lists including a day by day tally of bookings. A real bonus is that we can keep statistics for our sponsors. It also adds things up so it keeps our finances in order."

Masterton A & P Show
Professional version extended with trials for web generated content
This show held in our local area was the first to use the Web Extension option that we are currently developing. As the first NZ show to do so, it was a new service that was really appreciated by those riders involved.
With the Web Extension, show secretary Victoria was able to generate pre-linked html pages that showed all entries in all classes for customers and section stewards to check. This showed draws, start times, backnumbers and results. Users are given their own access code to check out their own entries online. Here are what the first users of this system had to say about it in unsolicited emails coming back to the organisers.
